Is your produce organic? 2018-02-08T15:52:29-08:00

The produce we sell at our stands is a mix of conventional and organic depending upon the item. Our produce box program (during the off-season) contains produce that is entirely organic.

The organic vs. conventional produce designation is very complicated and takes more than a paragraph to explain. Suffice it to say we do our very best to source our produce from farms that use the very best practices to give you the best produce money can buy. Additionally, please know that “organic” does not mean “no spray” and that certain items grown “organically” in California are actually more heavily sprayed than some of our conventional produce grown on small farms that do not have an Organic designation.

Can I buy box quantities at a better price? 2018-02-08T15:53:16-08:00

Yes! We specialize in box quantities for canning and special events and our most popular items (peaches, berries, pickling cukes, tomatoes) are often on hand without the need to order ahead of time. In most cases you can expect to save 20-25% by buying in box or flat quantity. In addition to the items listed we can bring in box quantities of any item we carry (and in some cases even items we don’t carry). Just send us an email or visit one of our locations and we would be happy to customize your box order!

What time of year are you open? 2018-02-08T15:54:02-08:00

We typically open our produce markets in May. Look for our South Bend location to open first (probably late April early May), then our La Pine location (mid-May) and finally our North Bend location (late May).

How do I know what’s currently in season? 2018-02-08T15:54:36-08:00

On our home page we have a detailed list of all of our seasonal items and their approx. date of harvest. If you don’t see your item there please send us an email or stop by one of our locations and we’d be happy to answer any question you have!

Where does your produce come from? 2018-02-08T15:55:05-08:00

Our produce primarily comes from the Northwest. We buy from small family owned farms all over Oregon and Washington but most typically in the Willamette, Hood River, and Yakima Valleys. We also buy from some local farms right here in Central Oregon but those items are limited both in variety and longevity as our growing season in the High Desert is very short. There are times we have to fill in season gaps with produce from California and there are certain items that do not grow (or do not grow well in the Northwest) so we source them from California and in some cases from out of the country (with tropical fruits).

When do you start selling Christmas Trees? 2018-02-08T15:56:00-08:00

We open our Christmas Tree lots the day after Thanksgiving each year and some of our lots stay open through Christmas Eve!
